![]() Hurricanes Revenge Loss With Shutout Saturday, October 27, 2001 By Bob Stuart In the first game of the soccer season, the Berlin Township Hurricanes were beaten by the Washington Township Charge 2-0. The score did not reflect who dominated in the game. The Hurricanes out shot the Charge 12 to 4, but just could not put the ball into the back of the net. This week's game had a different ending. The Hurricanes started the game down one player when some of the team didn't show up on time. Coach Williams was not happy about this, but had to get his players ready. |

On a warm October day, M. Sparks turned up the fire on the Breeze as she scored a hat trick and assisted on the other goal for the Hurricanes, as the Berlin Township defense stopped the Breeze. |
![]() Six Games Played At Berlin Township's Edgewood Avenue Complex Saturday, September 29, 2001 By Boog Williams The day started with the PeeWee teams in the morning and didn't end until the U-11 girls team stopping in the late afternoon. The PeeWee (5-7 year olds) teams are broken down into two divisions. The "veteran" players, who have played before, make up four teams and the new "rookie" players made up an additional two teams. The PeeWee's had their first official scrimmage games, two for the older players and one for the newcomers. |

In the first half, the Hurricanes played against the wind. They scored on a shot from the right side of the box by B. Gadzia. B. Gadzia received a ball thrown in from M. Williams down the right side of the field. The half ended 1-0 Berlin Township. |
![]() Sparks and Williams Ignite Berlin Township Hurricanes to Win Saturday, September 22, 2001 By Boog Williams The Berlin Township Hurricanes played the undefeated Riverside Rams in a U-10 girls soccer match. The Hurricanes came out flying. M. Sparks scored the first goal of the game. This was the first goal for the Hurricanes this year. She dribbled up the left side of the field and shot from just inside the 14-yard mark. The players and fans were finally able to celebrate. M. Williams scored the second goal of the game; she also dribbled up the left side and shot from almost the same spot as M. Sparks. Both goals were scored in the first 15 minutes of the first half. |
![]() Berlin Township U-10 Girls' Soccer Update: Teams Tie In Day Of Remembering Saturday, September 15, 2001 By Boog Williams The Berlin Township Hurricanes traveled to Winslow for a soccer game against the Sharks. The preparation for the game really started the night before. My daughter suggested that it would be nice to give the other team American Flags and a lollipop before the game during a moment of silence. We drove around town for over an hour trying to find flags. We put together the flags and the pops and went to our game. |
