Six Games Played At Berlin Township's Edgewood Avenue Complex

The day started with the PeeWee teams in the morning and didn't end until the U-11 girls team stopping in the late afternoon. The PeeWee (5-7 year olds) teams are broken down into two divisions. The "veteran" players, who have played before, make up four teams and the new "rookie" players made up an additional two teams. The PeeWee's had their first official scrimmage games, two for the older players and one for the newcomers.

The coaches were allowed on the field to help the players with their positions and the rules of the game. The first PeeWee game had the players running up and down the pitch. The game ended with the score 2-1. While the first game was going on the little PeeWee's started their game with the help of the coaches.

The third game featured the defending champs, who showed their form. In the first minutes of the game they came down and scored with a great shot from outside the 10-yard box. A new feature this year was the Berlin Township cheerleader that entertained the fans before and at half time. When these games were done, it was the time for the U-13 girls to take the bigger field.

The Berlin Township Raptors played the Voorhees Ice which the Ice won the game. A half hour later the U-10 girls started on the smaller field. It was the Berlin Township Hurricanes against the Tarkill Lady Knights, and the game ended 2-2 (click here to see article and photos). The last game of the day featured the U-11 girls from Berlin Township Blizzards against the Washington Township Fury. The Fury led the game 1-0, until 15 seconds left in the game. The Blizzards came down the right side of the field and took a shot to the far left post. The goalie appeared to have made the save, but the ref said the goalie stopped the ball behind the line. The game ended in a 1-1 tie and it was finally time to go home after 6 games at the complex.
