The Berlin Township Hurricanes traveled to Winslow for a soccer game against the Sharks. The preparation for the game really started the night before. My daughter suggested that it would be nice to give the other team American Flags and a lollipop before the game during a moment of silence. We drove around town for over an hour trying to find flags. We put together the flags and the pops and went to our game. Each player on the Berlin Township team handed a flag and a pop to the girls on the Winslow team. They turned to the fans and asked them to join in a moment of silence. The players ran to an adult on the sidelines and asked them to hold the treats for them until the end of the game.
During the game, both teams had many chances to score, but great goaltending or great defensive play just would not let the ball get over the line. The game ended in a 0-0 tie. This was a good way to end this week's game. Both teams won.
Last week on September 8th was the starting day for girls' soccer in South Jersey. Washington Township Charge traveled to Berlin Township to play the Hurricanes. The game play was up and down the field. Washington Township scored two goals in the first half to take a 2-0 lead. The game ended with the score Washington Township 2 - Berlin Township 0.
