The blue skies made it a great day to play lacrosse after so many days of clouds and rain. The Lady Quakers of Moorestown (19-0) ended up raining goals on the Moorestown Friends Lady Foxes (10-3) to win this second round game 19-2. Moorestown will play Camden Catholic (who defeated St. John Vianney 17-7) next in their pursuit to repeat as state champions. |

COLUMBUS, OH - The Philadelphia Wings won against the Columbus Landsharks, 17-7, at the Nationwide Arena. The Wings maintain third place in the National Lacrosse League standings, with one game left in the regular season at Albany. The Wings record increases to 9-4, with the team securing a playoff berth after this win, and Buffalo falling to New York (18-13). Philadelphia needs to win their last game at Albany to secure home field advantage for the NLL semi-finals. |

Jake Bergey scored on the Wings first possession in overtime to defeat the Washington Power 14-13 in a game played in front of 16,779 rabid fans at the First Union Center. The Philadelphia Wings scored two goals in the last ninety seconds to send the game into overtime. Tom Marachek led the Wings attack with four goals and Bergey notched a hat trick. The Power's Jesse Hubbard had three goals while Paul and Gary Gait added two goals apiece. |

Kevin Finneran led the Wings with two goals and five assists, while Jake Bergey lit the lamp five times to improved the Wings record to 7-3. Jason Wulder led the Saints with four goals and three assists and Mark Frye chipped in with three goals and two assists. |

Event Spotlight: Toronto Rock Rolls Over Philadelphia, Wings Drop To Second Place In NLL Saturday, March 10, 2001

PHILADELPHIA - In a battle for first place, the Philadelphia Wings fell to the Toronto Rock, 11-7, Saturday at the First Union Center in front of 13,485 fans. The Rock took the lead in the second quarter and never looked back. The Wings were without top scorer Tom Marechek, who was out with a sprained shoulder. The Wings record now stands at 6-3, while the Rock improve to 8-3. |
