Event Spotlight: Wings Mark Millon Scores 300th Career Point In Season Opener Saturday, December 30, 2000

ROCHESTER, NY - Philadelphia Wings' player Mark Millon scored his 300th career point (171G, 129A) tonight when he added three points (1G, 2A) in the Wings win during the first game of their 2000-01 season, a 17-16 win over the Rochester Knighthawks at the Blue Cross Arena in front of a crowd of 9,870. The Wings home opener is Friday, January 12 at the First Union Center against the expansion Ottawa Rebel at 8:00 p.m. Jake Bergey earned game Most Valuable Player honors, scoring six goals and five assists. |

The Ocean City Red Raiders (2-3) visited the Pennsauken Indians (0-6) for a match up between two young teams. This game was fast and furious, with Pennsauken holding the lead for most of the contest. But Ocean City's Meredith Long managed to score in the last minute (her 5th of the game) to allow the Red Raiders to escape with a tie. |

The Lady Renegades of Shawnee traveled to Marlton to continue their rivalry with the Lady Chiefs of Cherokee. The last time these two teams met was when Shawnee defeated the Lady Chiefs 14-5 in the second round of last year's playoffs. Even though the Lady Chiefs were hurting after a surprise loss to Collingswood on Wednesday, they looking forward to taking out their frustrations on the rival Lady Renegades. But Shawnee was able to outrun Cherokee, coming away with an important 15-9 win. |

Every team is optimistic on opening day, as every team starts out undefeated. But the Lady Quakers of Moorestown showed they were all business, and that they were ready for their annual pursuit of the state title. Courtney Legath led the way with 7 goals, as Moorestown muscled past Eastern 16-5. |
