High School Ice Hockey: Fox and Desimone Help Clearview Remain Undefeated Friday, October 19, 2001 By Mike Costantino Gunnar Fox scored four times and Anthony Desimone added two goals and two assists as Clearview defeated Cherry Hill East 10-2 and remain the only undefeated Tier 1 team in the league. John Probe opened the scoring for Clearview as Cherry Hill got caught on a line change. Probe broke in all alone and just over a minute into the game Clearview led 1-0. Two minutes later Nick Vacarino intercepted a clearing pass and scored short-handed to make it 2-0. Desimone made it 3-0, after a scramble in front he put the puck just inside the far post. |
High School Ice Hockey: Marano Nets Two As Township Beats Rancocas Friday, October 19, 2001 By Mike Costantino Eric Marano tallied twice and Dan Straga played a strong game in nets as Washington Township beat Rancocas Valley 6-2 in a Tier 1 game played at Hollydell on Friday night. After Aaron Smith scored a power play goal just over two minutes into the game to give Rancocas the early 1-0 lead, Marano tied the score at 1-1 on a nice feed from Joe Pelle and Mark Capone. Early in the second period Township had a two-man advantage and capitalized as Capone's blast from the point found the back of the net and a 2-1 lead. |

High School Field Hockey: Winslow Twp Making A Statement In Olympic Conference Tuesday, October 16, 2001 By Kristina Holak The 2001 Winslow Field Hockey team has proven itself to be a real contender in the Olympic Conference. Despite the fact of experience being a relevant issue during pre-season, the entire program has proven itself to be a force in South Jersey. The Eagles are currently ranked 19 in South Jersey with a record of 6-2-5 (as of 10/15/01). On Friday, 10/12/01, the Eagles secured a playoff birth to further their play in the post-season. With four games left on their regular season schedule, the team wants to continue to build their confidence and maturity as they step into the Group 4 State playoffs. |

High School Ice Hockey: Henderson Big Chief, Cherokee Beats Eastern Monday, October 15, 2001 By Mike Costantino Patrick Henderson had four goals and an assist and Chris Sabol stopped thirty shots as Cherokee defeated Eastern 7-4 in a SJHSIHL game played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees on Monday night. Henderson opened the scoring in the first minute as he stole the puck and beat Manny Rayo, who was starting in place of the injured Dan Myers. Eastern tied the game at 1-1 just over four minutes later as Brian Schellenhammer hit a streaking Tom Fadako in the slot and his blast beat Sabol top shelf. |

It was the ladies from Washington Township hosting the Renegades from Shawnee playing in an Olympic Confernce match. Shawnee were the winners on this day by defeating Township by a 3 to 2 score. |

Dana DiBruno and Amanda Kravitz each scored two goals, and Daniel DiBruno scored a goal and two assists. Shana Herman rounded out the scoring for Cherry Hill while Maureen Gantt scored Winslow's lone goal. |
