Megan Habina scored the only goal against Cherry Hill East on a penalty shot and it was enough to win the Olympic Conference interdivision meeting. The Lady Mustangs from Triton (8-6-1) qualified for the playoffs with the 1-0 victory against the previously unbeaten Lady Cougars.
The wind was the biggest factor in the game, making it difficult for either team to create an effective offense. Triton only managed a few shots and Cherry Hill keeper Emily Brenner handled them all easily except for the penalty shot in the first half.
Although East sent shot after shot either over the net or directly into the keeper's midsection, they did get a fair number of good shots off. The Triton keeper Katherina Kanetos played an incredible game at one point stopping a volley of three consecutive shots with diving saves. Allison Smith led Triton's defense in keeping Cherry Hill East (10-1-1) out of shooting range.
