George Bailey paced the Rutgers attack with a goal and two assists in a game played at Hollydell on Sunday night. Rutgers took the early lead as Bailey converted a pass from behind the net from Darren Audino twelve seconds into the game that turned out to be the only goal of the period. |
South Jersey Ice Hockey: Audino And Ramsay Lead Rutgers Over Rowan Sunday, December 3, 2000 By Mike Costantino Darren Audino and Travis Ramsay each scored three goals as Rutgers trounced Rowan 10-1 on Sunday at Hollydell. In just their second year, Rutgers has blossomed into one of the better teams and on this night their performance was totally dominant as they out shot Rowan sixty-one to fourteen. Rutgers top line of Audino, Dan Rosenberg and George Bailey created numerous opportunities and scored the first two goals of the game. After Audino scored in the opening minute, Bailey threaded a pass from the corner to Rosenberg and his quick shot gave Rutgers a 2-0 lead after three minutes. |
South Jersey Ice Hockey: Rutgers Edges Rowan in Hockey Opener Sunday, September 24, 2000 By Mike Costantino George Bailey broke a 3-3 tie with less than three minutes remaining as Rutgers-Camden defeated Rowan 4-3 in the season opener for both teams. Coming off a sub-par season last year, Rutgers has added some speed with the addition of Dan Rosenberg, Darren Aldino and returning goalie Bill Douglas. It was Douglas who played a solid game in nets. |
South Jersey Ice Hockey: Late Goals Lift Penn State Over Rutgers Saturday, February 5, 2000 By Mike Costantino Paul Cassielo scored with less than six minutes left in the game, and Pat Cleary added an insurance goal in the final minute, as Penn State defeated Rutgers 7-5 in a game played at the Coliseum. The game was scoreless until the six-minute mark of the first period when State's Matt McCann scored to put the Nittany Lions up 1-0. With just under two minutes remaining in the period, Travis Ramsey tied the game at 1-1 scoring on a breakaway. Rutgers took the lead at the end of the period, scoring on the power play as Jason Montagna converted a pass from Tony Fennen, and it was 2-1 heading into the second period. |
South Jersey Ice Hockey: Saturday, December 18, 1999 By Mike Costantino Randy Rangione had a goal and four assists, and Nick Anderson had two goals and an assist to lead Temple over Rutgers-Camden 7-1 in a college game played at the Coliseum on Saturday afternoon. The Owls took an early 1-0 lead as Mike Hufford scored a power play goal with Anderson and Rangione assisting. That lead lasted just over three minutes as Adam Lemma scored from the blue line to tie the score at 1-1. |
South Jersey Ice Hockey: Saturday, November 20, 1999 By Mike Costantino Franklin & Marshall beat Rutgers-Camden 4-1 in a college hockey game played at the Coliseum on Saturday afternoon. Unable to generate much offense and being out-shot by F & M 42-20, Rutgers fell behind in the first two minutes and never recovered. Casey Fogety scored on the power play with Dave Dymnicki assisting and F & M led 1-0. Stuart Tenney made it 2-0 in the closing minutes of the period. In past games, Rutgers has rallied from larger deficits but not today, as any scoring chances were turned away by goalie Tim Crawl. |
South Jersey Ice Hockey: Saturday, November 6, 1999 By Mike Costantino Tim Miller had two goals and two assists as Scranton defeated Rutgers-Camden 4-3 in a Delaware Valley league game on Saturday at the Coliseum. Rutgers trailed 4-1 early in the third period, but a power play goal and an end-to-end rush by Adam Lemma cut the lead to 4-3. Despite out-shooting Scranton thirty-five to twenty-five, Rutgers couldn't get the equalizer. After Lemma scored his first of two goals to give Rutgers the early 1-0 lead, Miller tied the game shortly thereafter. |
South Jersey Ice Hockey: Rutgers-Camden Loses To Explorers In Local College Hockey Saturday, October 30, 1999 By Mike Costantino Not many people know that Rutgers-Camden has a hockey team. I sure didn't, but they do, and they played LaSalle in an entertaining game on Saturday and lost 8-6 at the Coliseum. Both teams are in the Delaware Valley Collegiate Hockey Conference and the school in part sponsors Rutgers-Camden. To be eligible for the team you must be taking at least four credits. |
