 High School Field Hockey:Camden Catholic Holds Off Bishop Eustace's Charge Wednesday, November 7, 2001 By Crystal Parker It was a semifinal game that had both teams playing excellent defense that kept the fans on pins and needles knowing that one of the teams had to lose. Camden Catholic was hosting Bishop Eustace in the South Jersey Group 2 semifinal field hockey game. There was a lot of excitement each time a team had position in the circle. That's when the crowd got louder in anticipation of a goal being scored. The Irish took a 2-0 lead when Maureen Casserly scored the deciding goal in the second half to push the Irish into the finals for their second consecutive year. |
 High School Field Hockey:Millville Bolts Past Winslow 2-1 Friday, November 2, 2001 By Bob Stuart The Millville Thunderbolts bolted past the Winslow Township Eagles by the score of 2-1. The Thunderbolts, seeded sixth (10-8-3) traveled to Winslow, seeded third (9-4-5) in the first round of the South Jersey Group 4 Field Hockey tournament. With the construction going on at Winslow, the Field Hockey field was moved to where the girl's soccer team plays. The field here was in better condition then the other field at the middle school. |
 High School Field Hockey:Winslow Twp Making A Statement In Olympic Conference Tuesday, October 16, 2001 By Kristina Holak The 2001 Winslow Field Hockey team has proven itself to be a real contender in the Olympic Conference. Despite the fact of experience being a relevant issue during pre-season, the entire program has proven itself to be a force in South Jersey. The Eagles are currently ranked 19 in South Jersey with a record of 6-2-5 (as of 10/15/01). On Friday, 10/12/01, the Eagles secured a playoff birth to further their play in the post-season. With four games left on their regular season schedule, the team wants to continue to build their confidence and maturity as they step into the Group 4 State playoffs. |
 High School Field Hockey:Shawnee Defeats Winslow Records Sixth Shutout In A Row Wednesday, October 10, 2001 By Bob Stuart One of the top teams in South Jersey Field hockey, the Shawnee Renegades, traveled to Winslow Township to take on the Eagles. In an Olympic Conference match up, the Renegades stretched their winning streak to six. During those games, they had not allowed a single goal. Shawnee won the game 5 - 0 to extend their record to 7-3-1. |
 High School Field Hockey:Moorestown Shuts Out Northern Burlington Wednesday, September 19, 2001 By Crystal Parker The Lady Quakers of Moorestown were starting their field hockey season off with yet another win. Hosting the Lady Greyhounds of Northern Burlington, Moorestown's defense kept most of the action in their opponent's end of the field and scored the first goal early in the game. Persistence paid off as the Lady Quakers scored two goals in both halves of this game for a 4-0 shutout. |
 High School Field Hockey:Moorestown Starts Season With 2-0 Defeat of Holy Cross Friday, September 7, 2001 By Charlie Barker Moorestown continued its undefeated streak in the Burlington County Liberty Division by defeating Holy Cross 2-0 in their season opener. The two teams fought to a 0-0 tie in the first half, but the Lady Quakers were able to put it away in the second with goals by Jesse Lacontora and Aurora Grossman. Goalie Joanna Roberts provided the shutout performance for Moorestown. |
