The Lady Quakers of Moorestown were starting their field hockey season off with yet another win. Hosting the Lady Greyhounds of Northern Burlington, Moorestown's defense kept most of the action in their opponent's end of the field and scored the first goal early in the game. Persistence paid off as the Lady Quakers scored two goals in both halves of this game for a 4-0 shutout.
Last year, Moorestown won all twelve of their divisional games and finish with a 19-1-1 record. Coach Joan Lewis guided her team to the Central Group 2 Championship meeting against Shore Regional High. That meeting was a well played game that the Lady Quakers lost by a 1-0 score.
Senior Joanna Roberts has been outstanding in goal for Moorestown during their winning ways. The Lady Greyhounds were facing the Quakers in a Burlington County Liberty Division meeting but could not penetrate Moorestown's pressure. Senior Colleen Dalon scored 2 goals, while Casey Cech and Auora Grossman each added a goal to come away with the win. Next up for the Lady Quakers will be Burlington Township on Friday while Delran will be visiting the Lady Greyhounds.
