Pennsauken Takes Advantage of Turnovers Saturday, September 16, 2006 By Jerome Michaels The way this game which featured the Pennsauken Indians hosting the Red Devils from Rancocas Valley started out, the Indians appeared to be in full control with the defense forcing their opponent to turn the ball over. The offense would convert those turnovers to twenty points and the Indians’ defense would dominate the early moments. The Red Devils would battle back for twenty points of their own during the second quarter and reduce their deficit to just six points at the start of the second half. Pennsauken would then score a third quarter touchdown and the defense would not give up a single point during the remainder of this game. Pennsauken would pick up their second win of the season with their 32-20 win to remain undefeated through two games. |

Lynx Lock Up Division Crown; Eye Home-field Advantage in Playoffs Saturday, September 16, 2006 By Rich Quiñones The South Jersey Lynx have sent a message to the rest of the NAFL after Saturday night's division clinching 7-0 win over the New Jersey Terminators. It was simple - they are here to stay and the rest of the league better take notice. In a defensive struggle, it was a gutsy fourth-down call by head coach Lester Cream early on in the fourth quarter that might have earned the Lynx home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Cream is widely considered one of the best and most intense coaches in the league and is strongly making a case for Coach of the Year in the NAFL. |

Triton Picks Up the Win against Pennsauken Tuesday, September 12, 2006 By Joyce Sagerty Soccer is that game, as all of us soccer fans know, where each member on the field plays an important role in the success of scoring a goal. No one player can do it alone and the entire team must work together according to the game plan and achieve the goal of putting the ball into the net. Both teams, the Lady Indians from Pennsauken traveling to Triton to take on the Mustangs, were unable to get past the defense during the first half. It wasn’t until the second half that Triton was able to score the first and only goal of this game. In their 1-0 victory on the road, goal keeper Amy Ferrara would preserve the shutout in goal for Triton. |

Delran's Late Goal Enough to hold off the Wildcats Monday, September 11, 2006 By Jerome Michaels A few days ago, Delran's boys' soccer team opened up their season with a lost to Burlington Township and was looking to even up their record against Maple Shade Wildcats. The beginning of their schedule has them playing their first four games at home and the start of their game against the Wildcats, it appeared safe that they would get their first win. Two first half goals by Delran allowed the Bears to start the second half with the lead. But Maple Shade rallied to tie the game and it appeared as if overtime was in the near future. Halil Aydin was able to put the ball in the net with less than a minute and a half remaining in the game giving Delran the 3-2 victory. |

Haddonfield Earns another Shutout Victory Monday, September 11, 2006 By Susan Hall The season has started out well for Haddonfield so far and they were looking to continue that success. It is hard not to look ahead at their match-up against Eastern later on in the week, but Haddonfield would have to take it one game at a time. The Bulldogs had battled West Deptford to a one goal victory and keeper Christina Puggi was looking to come up with another defensive contest in front of the net and Haddonfield's defense would help her out. Haddonfield would score three times in this game and shut out Haddon Heights by that 3-0 margin. |
