Surf starter Anthony Chavez picked up the loss after giving up seven runs in his five innings of work. Patriots starter Rich Kelley picked up the win. He went five innings in his first appearance for Somerset, allowing four runs on seven hits. |
South Jersey Baseball: Thursday, July 15, 2004 By Bill Cook Portland scored four runs in the 1st Inning off rehabbing right-hander Kevin Brown and went on to beat Trenton, 9-1, in Eastern League play on Thursday night. Brown (0-1), on the disabled list for the New York Yankees, threw two innings in a rehabilitation start for Trenton. He gave up seven hits and five runs while throwing 36 pitches in the two innings. Two of the five runs that Brown surrendered were unearned and 22 of his 36 pitches were strikes. |

After three more games on the road the Flyers will commence the home portion of their 2004-05 regular season schedule on Thursday, October 21 against the Carolina Hurricanes at the Wachovia Center. The 82-game regular season slate will conclude on Saturday, April 9, with a game in New York against the Islanders. |
