South Jersey Baseball: Surf to Hold 1st Annual Grand Slam Charity Event Monday, July 12, 2004 By Chuck Betson Atlantic City Surf Director of Media Relations On August 1st, the Atlantic City Surf will be holding the 1st Annual AC Surf Grand Slam Charity Event at Sancastle Stadium. Following the 1:35 pm game against the Nashua Pride, Surf players and coaches will be putting together their effort to raise money for Surf Charities. The main features on the field will be autographs from players and coaches ($3.00 each), pictures with players and coaches ($3.00 each), meet and greet with Splash, a silent auction featuring autographed memorabilia and gift baskets, the Wheel O'' Fun ($2.00 a spin), and the opportunity to dunk the players and coaches in the dunk tank! Donations will also be accepted throughout with fantastic prizes as compensation. Tickets to the event will be $5.00 and/or game day tickets will be honored. All proceeds from the event and portions of game day sales will go towards the Surf Charities. Founded in 2003, the Surf Charities provide scholarships to students in local schools who are looking to pursue a career in the sports management or sports medicine.
