High School Field Hockey: Saturday, November 2, 2002 By Crystal Parker Bishop Eustace's Megan Baker was able to find a way past the Triton defense Saturday afternoon. The Lady Crusaders traveled to Runnemede New Jersey to participate in field hockey matchup against the Mustangs from Triton High School. Baker scored twice in this game while the Bishop Eustace defense kept Triton off the scoreboard and posted a 4-0 victory. |
High School Football: Saturday, November 2, 2002 By Vincent Lewis This was a day of respect for Winslow Township. The Eagles were playing the undefeated Indians from Lenape High School and were looking to prove they had what it takes to beat them give them a chance to win their division. The teachers were also looking to be heard by holding signs indicating they have been working without a contract for over a year. So when Winslow recorded 27-17 victory in front of a capacity crowd, it was not only a big win for the football program but also a platform for many to be aware of the teachers' situation. Winslow's Shonn Greene rushed for over 180 yards and scored a touchdown. |

KiXX defender Pat Morris scored the game-winning goal at 8:40 of the second quarter on an assist from goalkeeper Peter Pappas. Pappas (4-2) earned the victory and recorded 15 saves, while Brett Phillips (0-1) took the loss for Baltimore, stopping 13 shots on goal. |
High School Field Hockey: Friday, November 1, 2002 By Crystal Parker It was a day that most wanted to stay at home and keep warm under your favorite blanket. All week long, Mother Nature has reminded us that winter was not too far away with wind chill temperatures holding around the freezing mark. Despite the conditions, the Woodstown Wolverines (14-4-1) traveled to Gloucester City to take on the Lady Lions in a battle between two of the top field hockey teams in the Tri-County Conference Classic Division. Woodstown's Jamie Toy scored the winning goal in their 3-1 victory to all but seal the division title. |

Unkle NEW YORK - Through the opening month of the 2002-2003 regular season, National Hockey League games have featured more offense, greater flow and faster finishes as the result of strict enforcement against interference/obstruction infractions and the implementation of "hurry-up" line change procedures. Through Oct. 31, NHL Clubs had played 150 of the scheduled 1,230 games, and the data gathered from those contests reflect a jump in scoring to 5.6 goals per game through 150 games this season compared to 5.4 per game through as many games last season. |

High School Ice Hockey: Monday, October 28, 2002 By Mike Costantino Shawnee and Eastern played to a 5-5 tie in SJHSIHL action on Monday night at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. After battling the league leader Clearview last week with a shortened bench, Coach Pontonio welcomed back some key players. Sean Sullivan would score twice and Anthony Orner notched a goal. Jeff Hoffner paced Shawnee, who was looking for their first win, with two goals. After Sullivan scored a short-handed goal to give Eastern a 1-0 lead, Hoffner tied the game at 1-1 after picking off an errant pass. |
