Talk about a player finding the range on her jump shots... Shawnee's Lynlee Phillips could do no wrong when she hit seven 3-pointers Tuesday night at Lenape High School in an Olympic Conference game. This was Shawnee's second victory in as many games to start the season out undefeated. The Renegades had little problem getting a 63-44 win on the road.

Coach Kevin Kelly's Lenape Indians (0-2) lost a hard fought battle to their rivals, the Shawnee Renegades (2-0), 49-60. Shawnee's much-hyped point guard, Sean Mulholland, played sparingly throughout the first half after an ankle injury that occurred early in the first quarter. However, with Shawnee's pressure defense and with Michael Medvedtz's outstanding play, they took an early lead and never looked back.

For Camden High School, the biggest question was whether top-scorer Dajuan Wagner would remain at Camden. Once rumored to be transferring to the Panthers' conference rival Camden Catholic, Wagner remained at Camden for his sophomore year. The Cherokee Chiefs hosted this Olympic Conference openining season game on the losing end. Camden had little problem starting the season off with a 67-35 victory.

In an entertaining game played Friday night at Hollydell, Clearview defeated the defending champions from Eastern High School 5-2. The game started with Eastern spending the first minute in the Clearview zone, but goaltender Rich Reeger stymied the Vikings on two close-in scoring chances. Clearview would score on their first shot by Ryan Arnold, and it was 1-0 with less than two minutes played.

The 1998-99 boys basketball season is now in progress. With the NBA not playing, why not go and support the local kids in your area as they play a very competitive, fast paced, game? (Click here to see video of the tip off between Bishop Eustace and Edgewood.) The game between the Crusaders and the Eagles was a perfect example.
