Overbrook Holds On To Defeat Edgewood 42-36

The meet started off with excitement and ended with excitement. The first match, at weight class 103, had Overbrook's Frank Frochlick pin Edgewood's Stephon Tompson with 57 seconds left in the first period to give Overbrook a 6-0 lead. At 112, Gary DeBridle (O) won by forfeit to make the score 12-0. At 119, Ryan Saunders (O) pinned David Casaboon (E) to make the score 18-0. At 125, Jeff Mullen (E) scored a 14 - 2 win over George Larsen to make the score 18-4. At 130, Sean Chance (E) scored a 2 - 1 win over Chris Denston (O) to make it 18-7. At 135, Ryan Morgan (O) pinned Rob Lowe (E), which increased Overbrook's lead to 24 - 7.

At 140, Lee Minniti (E) pinned Dan Pullman (O) to make it 24 - 13. At 145, Derek Schaffer (E) pinned James Leary (O) to make it a close match at 24 - 19. At 152, Jason Legoshey (O) pinned Steve Deince (E) to make it 30 - 19. At 160, Chris Catania (E) pinned Steve Snyder (O) to make the score 30 - 25.

At 171, Jarrett Crooms (E), with the crowd chanting "Jarrett, Jarrett" defeated Chris Hagan (O) 24 - 7 to tie the match at 30 all. At 189, Adam Faris (E) gave Edgewood the lead, 36 - 30, by pinning Steve Bonk (O). At 215, Darnelle Scott (O) pinned Roy Hester (E) to tie the match again. In the final weight class (275 lb.) to decide the match, Rich Synder (O) pinned Dan Stahl (E), who went up a weight class in order to help his team.
