By Art Redd Talk about a player finding the range on her jump shots... Shawnee's Lynlee Phillips could do no wrong when she hit seven 3-pointers Tuesday night at Lenape High School in an Olympic Conference game. This was Shawnee's second victory in as many games to start the season out undefeated. The Renegades had little problem getting a 63-44 win on the road. The Lady Indians started out with a tight zone defense to try to take away any inside game. But the Lady Renegades moved the ball around the perimeter to find the open player for the clear shot at the basket. This offensive scheme was very successful in the first quarter as Shawnee jumped out to a 26-8 lead. Phillips got her points from the free throw line as well as the short range shots. Brooke Kelley got position under the boards to put in the loose shots to contribute to the 39-17 halftime lead. The second half of this game was not any different than the first. Coach Lynn Brennan was trying to find an offensive game to get the Indians into a more productive scoring opportunity. The Renegades continued to hold Lenape's offense to single digits as they outscored them 21-8 in the third quarter. That's when Phillips and Kelley continued their inside-outside game and rolled past Lenape. Phillips finished with 35 points and Kelley added 19 points. Lenape's Danica Ghegan had 13 points and Stephanie Schroeder contributed 12-points. Photos by Art Redd
