Wednesday, April 18, 2007 By Jerome Michaels Baseball is that game that for many teams, it takes awhile to get started. Players on the field and at the plate sometimes need a couple of innings to occur before they get a feel for the game. The advantage the starting pitcher may have would be opposing batters need to see a few pitches before getting locked in at the plate. One player who seemed to be locked in early was Dan McGuckin for the Eagles from Winslow Township. With his second hit of the game, McGuckin cleared the bases with a grand slam giving Winslow a big lead that Cherry Hill West could not recover from. Jason Gladden had plenty of run support and picked up the 9-3 victory on the mound for the Eagles. |

Saturday, October 7, 2006 By Clark Washington All of the preparation throughout the week done for a homecoming game can be exciting and a bit of a distraction for some of the players with so much emphasis focused on this high school event. On the other side of this situation, a player could be completely focused on their objective with this game and get pumped up knowing that a large crowd will be watching. The Eagles from Winslow Township definitely would achieve their goals as they were able to contain the powerful offensive minded Chargers from Timber Creek. In a battle between two teams from the Burlington/Olympic Liberty Division, the Eagles dominated both sides of the ball and were able to come away with the 30-0 victory. Ruben Johnson had two rushing touchdowns for Winslow Township. |

Friday, September 22, 2006 By Jerome Michaels With just about two weeks into the season, teams have established which players on their team have the ability to score goals. When that number of players goes beyond three, you can count on your team competing in every game that team steps onto the field. The Eagles from Winslow Township, traveling to Triton to take on the Mustangs, were looking to pick up their fourth win in a row. During the first half of this Olympic Conference Patriot Division boys' soccer game, neither team was able to score. Mike Regan changed that during he second half scoring twice for the Eagles and his success on this day was enough to defeat Triton by a 2-1 margin. |

Monday, April 24, 2006 By Clark Washington No lead was safe and both teams had players with the ability of creating ways of scoring. That's the way this boys' lacrosse game could be described between Winslow Township traveling to Washington Township participating in an inter Olympic Conference game. The Minutemen would maintain a slight edge over visiting Winslow Township during the first half, but the momentum slightly again would switch over to the side of the Eagles. This game eventually would have to be decided in overtime where Winslow Township would pick up the 12-11 victory. Keenan Andersen netted seven goals and had five assists in this game for the Eagles. |

Sunday, February 19, 2006 By Jerome Michaels It would be a week later and with no threat of snow in the forecast, the Olympic-Cape Atlantic Challenge got back on schedule but with a few changes. David Catalana, Executive Director of the Shoot Down Cancer Foundation Inc. and the organizer for this boys' basketball tournament, had a difficult time rescheduling the games in order to complete this tournament. One of the originally scheduled games did take place and that would be the Crusaders from Wildwood Catholic taking on the Eagles from Winslow Township. Wildwood Catholic would use a balanced attack and post a 46-42 win over the Eagles. |

Saturday, February 4, 2006 By Anthony Phillips For the majority of this wrestling match held at Cherry Hill East, the Cougars would look up at the scoreboard only to find themselves trailing the Eagles from Winslow Township. This Olympic Conference match was the first of two matches these teams would be competing in on the day. Neither the coaching staff nor the wrestlers from East appeared too worried about the score as they would trail by two points with two bouts to go. Jesse Cohen would put East ahead with a pin and Noah Bellar would avoid being pinned to secure the win. The Cougars would defeat Winslow Township by a 32-31 margin. |

Saturday, October 29, 2005 By Jerome Michaels You will always find those teams every year coming through with that victory late in the season in order to qualify for the playoffs. This year, the Panthers from Camden High would be one of those teams on the bubble looking for a way into the group tournament. Needing a win against the Eagles from Winslow Township, the Panthers were looking to pick up some important power points. Winslow Township's hopes of winning two games in a row against teams from Camden fell short as the Panthers running game proved to be the difference. Camden would expand on their halftime lead and propel themselves into the post season with a 22-14 victory. |

Saturday, October 22, 2005 By Jason Brown If you were to take a closer look at the number of teams still with a chance of making the playoffs, it would be a clear indication that every game is a must win for those teams down the stretch. Every player on the football team must find a way to play their hardest and smartest in order to come away with the victory for the team. Winslow Township’s Gawain Bragg demonstrated that urgency on the field against Woodrow Wilson Saturday afternoon. With the rain causing the field conditions to be a bit difficult to maneuver, Bragg would find his footing and was just one of many players coming through with the big plays for his team. Winslow Township would pull away from the Tigers in the second half and pick up the Homecoming victory 20-6. |
