High School Basketball: Thursday, February 16, 2006 By Zarchary Hibbs With the upcoming group basketball tournament beginning in about two weeks, there are some teams working on implementing a few new plays in preparation of the beginning of the high school version of March Madness. Two teams from the Burlington County League Freedom Division occurred at Palmyra when the boy's basketball team from Moorestown Friends entered the facilities. With a position already secured in the South Group I bracket, the Panthers' early success at building a lead allowed them to get as many players involved as possible. When Palmyra posted their 68-61 victory, five players finished in double figures. |
High School Football: Saturday, October 29, 2005 By Vincent Lewis On a day when the Panthers would be honoring several new members with their induction to the Hall of Fame, Palmyra would be looking for a way to cap off the celebrations by picking up a win against Bordentown in a Burlington County/Olympic League Freedom Division game. A victory would be even sweeter for Palmyra as they look to assure themselves a five hundred record to qualify for the upcoming Group 1 tournament. Trailing by a touchdown at halftime, the Panthers would give the Hall of Fame crowd a lot to cheer about as Palmyra’s two fourth quarter scores would provide an exciting comeback. Palmyra would score the winning touchdown with 58.9 seconds remaining and defeat Bordentown 12-7. |
High School Football: Saturday, September 11, 2004 By Jerome Michaels You couldn't help but notice that one of our own past high school players, Wali Lundy now attending Virginia and a graduate from Holy Cross, scored three touchdowns for his new team. His efforts served as a motivating factor for high school players in this area. With their performance on the field, the Crusaders from Bishop Eustace received scores from five different players in route to winning their season opener. Palmyra would avoid the shutout by score a late fourth quarter touchdown to finalize the 34-6 scoring. |
