High School Soccer: Saturday, September 11, 2004 By Vincent Lewis After a long summer break and the beginning of a new school year, it's now the time for athletics directors to ensure that every fall sport has everything it needs to compete at the highest level possible. During scheduled home games, you can find most directors roaming around from field to field providing assisting where necessary. There are some that you'll find watching the game as a fan with high hopes of their team coming away with the win. At Lindenwold High School, the Lions were hosting Woodstown in a non-league boy's soccer game. Derryk Sellers was that athletic director riding away happy as Lindenwold recorded a 3-2 decision behind the scoring of Edwin Maldanade and Jaime Flores. |
High School Football: Saturday, September 11, 2004 By Jerome Michaels You couldn't help but notice that one of our own past high school players, Wali Lundy now attending Virginia and a graduate from Holy Cross, scored three touchdowns for his new team. His efforts served as a motivating factor for high school players in this area. With their performance on the field, the Crusaders from Bishop Eustace received scores from five different players in route to winning their season opener. Palmyra would avoid the shutout by score a late fourth quarter touchdown to finalize the 34-6 scoring. |

The Path to Athletic Power: The Model Conditioning Program for Championship Performance Saturday, September 11, 2004 By Gregory "Graig" White All I can say is this publication can make a huge difference in the life of athletes, coaches and athletic programs. This model has proven to be successful, so successful that it is one of the most copied models in the world. I met Coach Epley in the early 90's and had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with him and his staff, talk about a group of guys who were built to do what they were doing, the passion and desire that his coaches worked with was contagious. |
South Jersey Baseball: Saturday, September 11, 2004 By Don Delaney It was another pitcher's duel at Campbell's Field on Saturday night. What started with Ben Simon and Bubba Hardwick, turned into a battle of the bullpens until the game was decided on a Brad King home run in the 14th inning. King's 10th home run of the season was the difference in the 2-1 ballgame. Simon showed the form that earned him Atlantic League Pitcher of the Year honors as year ago. He pitched eight solid innings, allowing five hits and one earned run, while striking out a season-high 10. |
High School Soccer: Friday, September 10, 2004 By Jerome Michaels With the start of the soccer season, experts’ preseason predictions are usually thrown out the window with the multitude of upsets that occur. Most of the time, a team that has a number of talented juniors and seniors get recognized in the preseason rankings. So when a team “flies under the radar” and posts a win against a team that they weren’t suppose to win, it has all the makings of a very interesting season ahead. The Crusaders would find themselves down by a goal on their home field at the end of the first break, rallied to tie and then score the winning goal in the extra period when Kyle Miller scored his second goal of the game. |

The Golden Eagles from Seneca felt some of that excitement as they entered the field as under dogs when they traveled to Shawnee. In front of a capacity crowd, the Renegades dominated the game both offensively and defensively posting a 27-0 victory against Seneca. |
