Buena, on the other hand, was the team controlling the tempo capitalizing on every Eastern missed shot. In the second half of this game, the Vikings began connecting from the perimeter behind the shooting of Dominick Mejia to pull away from the Chiefs. Event Spotlight: Phantoms Get Bit By Wolves in 5-1 Loss Saturday, February 16, 2002 By David Unkle February has been a rough month for the Phantoms with one win in their last six games (1-2-3). Last night's 5-1 loss to the Chicago Wolves at the First Union Spectrum did nothing to reverse their misfortune. In their first game following the AHL All-Star Game, the Phantoms looked a step or two behind the Wolves and their unusually porous defense allowed Chicago too many scoring opportunities. Odd man rushes and players left alone in the slot or at the side of the net were commonplace last night at the Phantoms end of the ice. |
