Defense Holds Irish In Check As Wilson Airs Out Victory

It was yet another game that they had to win to prove to others they were the team to beat. Improving their record to 5-0, the Tigers from Woodrow Wilson halted Camden Catholic's hopes of winning this Olympic Conference competition. The defense came up big when needed and combined with the arm of Jamil Tyson, Wilson made a statement by beating a very competitive team 33-16 at home.

Sparks And Taggart Score In Win For Hurricanes

The Berlin Township Hurricanes defeated the Maple Shade Breeze 4-1 in a U-10 South Jersey Girl's soccer match. On a warm October day, M. Sparks turned up the fire on the Breeze as she scored a hat trick and assisted on the other goal for the Hurricanes, as the Berlin Township defense stopped the Breeze.

BTAA PeeWee Opens For The Season

The PeeWee teams took the field for the first time as the regular scheduled started. The rain and wind from last week postponed the opening. The players had lots of fun and two PeeWee and one little peewee games were played.

Neumann Rallies From A Two Goal Deficit To Defeat Williamstown

St. John Neumann recorded their first victory of the season by defeating Williamstown 4-2 in Tier 2 action on Friday night at Hollydell. After a scoreless first period, both goalies came up with some outstanding saves during the period. Neumann's Andrew Renzi and Williamstown's Eric LaMonica played solid defense in goal.

Custer Leads Moorestown In Romp Over Sterling

Greg Custer had four goals and two assists to lead undefeated Moorestown to a 10-0 rout of Sterling. Anthony Fendrick and Ian Kindermann chipped in with a goal and two assists each as Moorestown in their first year in the league, improved to 3-0 in Tier 2 competition. Custer netted a natural hat trick as he scored the first three goals in just over three minutes into the game.

Shawnee Defeats Winslow Records Sixth Shutout In A Row

One of the top teams in South Jersey Field hockey, the Shawnee Renegades, traveled to Winslow Township to take on the Eagles. In an Olympic Conference match up, the Renegades stretched their winning streak to six. During those games, they had not allowed a single goal. Shawnee won the game 5 - 0 to extend their record to 7-3-1.

Cougars Take Conference Lead - Stop Vikings

The much anticipated match between the Eastern Lady Vikings and the Cherry Hill East Lady Cougars took place in Cherry Hill. These teams have shared the conference title the last two seasons and are on track to battle for that title once more. The Cougars entered the match undefeated. The Vikings had only one non-conference loss to Hunterdon Central on the road. These teams were eager to finish what they started almost one month ago at the Viking Invitational when the match was called due to an electrical problem.
