Patty Antzoulatos graduated from Overbrook High School and is now a junior at Rutgers University in Camden, majoring in accounting and finance. Patty plays softball in the outfield, all 5 feet of her. She has played softball for more than half of her life.

Coaches Pete Dipol and Russ Heaton said they were looking to have a nice season. Well, the team is starting off on the correct way by giving Edgewood its first Tournament win in 12 years and their second win in 8 years over rival sister school, Overbrook. The Eagles started off the season by winning the Haddonfield Invitational on Saturday, December 18 and then followed by defeating rival sister school, Overbrook, 33-28 on December 22.

High School Boys Basketball: Tuesday, December 21, 1999

Clearview and Salem, both coming off pretty easy wins over the weekend, met Tuesday night in the Pioneers' gym. The game had an uptempo beat in the first quarter, with the score being tied at 10. Dan Fellona stepped up and scored 8 of the Pioneers first ten points. The Pioneers battled hard in the second quarter as well, knotting it up at 20 at the half.

With 6:59 seconds left in the second quarter, Highland's Mark Groark scored his 1,001 point of his career. Groark took a pass at the left of the key and drove in on the Edgewood defense, hitting a 12-foot jump shot. The two points made Groark the third player in Highland history to score 1,000 points. Groark lead the Tartans with 23 points to a 77 to 40 win over Edgewood in an Olympic Conference Patriot Division game.

Lindsay Roy became the first female to score a goal for the Eastern Vikings varsity squad as they skated by Holy Cross 8-0 in a SJHSIHL game played on Monday night at Pennsauken. For most of you not familiar with Lindsay, a senior, she skates with the Eastern JV team. As most coaches will try and do, any seniors that are on the JV squad that have not dressed for a varsity game, schedule permitting, will play a varsity game before they graduate.

Drew Ricco scored two goals as Triton rallied from a 2-0 deficit to tie Collingswood 3-3 in a Tier 2 SJHSIHL game played Monday night at the Coliseum. Collingswood, leading their division, was led by Adam Wiedmann with a goal and an assist. Wiedmann scored in the first two minutes to give Collingswood the early 1-0 lead. With Triton goalie Joe Roccia playing solid in nets, he kept the Mustangs close until they could get their offense on track.

Washington Township scored eight goals in the second period to blow open a close game and crushed St. John Neumann 12-3 at the Coliseum in a SJHSIHL game played on Monday night. Buddy Anderson (who wears number eight) led the way with two goals and two assists and Township had eight different players score, which has been key for them all year as they are getting contributions from all their lines. Township remained one point behind Clearview for first place in the league that has turned into a two-team race.
