The Riverside Rams dominated the Palmyra Panthers on both sides of the ball, using a strong running attack on offense and a pressure defense. On an unusual note, Palmyra did not commit a single penalty, with Riverside giving away 106 yards on mistakes. But the dominating play of the Rams, combined with 4 interceptions, just overwhelmed the Panthers for a 42-7 victory.

Just image arriving to the football field, geared up for a classic battle between two Olympic Conference teams and smelling food being cooked on the grill. The Irish Football Club run by the parents of Camden Catholic provides fans at every home game with grilled sausage, meatball sandwiches and more for sale. But it was the Highland Tartans who were hungry enough for a road victory and captured their first win of the season. Highland used the second half to pull away for a 31-8 win.

The Berlin Township Roller Hockey league is off and rolling. Every Saturday at the Day Avenue Sports Complex, you can see plenty of games starting around 9am. I saw two games at the rink in West Berlin on Saturday. Photos of the game were taken by my good friend Boog Williams who was taking photos of the BTAA Pee Wee soccer that is right next to the roller hockey rink.

On a brisk autumn night here at Triton stadium, the only thing crispier than the nighttime weather was the Lenape Indians. It was here that the Lenape team flexed its muscles and pounded out a 26-0 victory against the Mustangs of Triton. The highly ranked Indians gained the upper hand against the respectable Mustangs in a tough Olympic Conference American Divisional meeting.

The Minutemaids of Washington Township visited the Lady Renegades of Shawnee to play a game "under the lights" for the hotly contested Olympic Conference American Division. Even though Township won the game 4-1, the score gives no indication on how close and hard fought this game was for both teams.

Marissa Kravitz put in three unanswered goals in the first 12 minutes of the game and Cherry Hill East never looked back. Jen Padlo, the rock of the Cougars defense, was outstanding. Padlo's defense allowed only one shot on goal in the first half and she got a foot on that one just too late. A poor offense can make a defense look good, but today a great defense made a good offense look bad. Coach Murray's Lions played reasonably well and keeper Amanda Lomberg had only one very soft goal.

On Thursday, at Edgewood High School, the Lady Eagles of Edgewood challenged the Ladies of Palmyra in a non-conference match. This match may not be one that the news reporters rush to cover, but it was significant to us. It was the battle of the Mack Family. Edgewood's Jeff Mack was challenging his older brother, John. As an added incentive, his niece, #1 singles Lauren Mack, also plays for Palmyra.

It was a hard fought game between two teams that are not used to losing. The 5-1 Cherokee girls were anxious to stop the 3-0 Cougars of Cherry Hill East. The first five minutes were all Cherry Hill as Cherokee's keeper Christie Schillig was tested early and often. This was not a game without offense. Cherry Hill outshot Cherokee 6-4 in the first half. Both teams had to fight their way out of the box over and over. The offenses simply ran into very capable defenses.
