No team enjoys losing, especially when a team has gotten used to winning. The Crusaders from Bishop Eustace had won 13 out of their last 15 games but were trying to snap a current two game losing streak. Jim Yezzo's first inning three run homerun highlighted a six run inning that put the Crusaders ahead of the Mustangs from Triton. Starting pitcher Chris Monaco only allowed one hit and Bishop Eustace would cruise to a 10-0 victory. |

It was a game that both teams would remember how the last meeting ended on the field. The Lady Crusaders from Bishop Eustace used their last at bat to steal away a one run victory over Camden Catholic. During their rematch, there wouldn't be a dramatic come-from-behind victory but the Lady Irish would use clutch hitting and good pitching to even the score. Camden Catholic's early run support allowed starting pitcher Alyssa O'Donnell and the rest of the defense limited their opponent to a single run. The Irish would win this game by a 6-1 victory. |

There's a race for the title taking place and three teams, Seneca, Bishop Eustace and Camden Catholic are all in contention of claiming the Olympic Conference National Division title. Two of those teams met at Camden Catholic where the Fighting Irish was hosting the Crusaders from Bishop Eustace and both teams had the talent to win the big games when needed. Camden Catholic would use their home field advantage and belted four home runs to defeat their opponent. The Irish never trailed in this game and won by a 12-4 margin. |

When the day began, there was a weather report of a chance of rain could postpone most outdoor activities. With that news, most players might not even want to take the field. That's when the coaching staff must find a way to motivate their players preparing them mentally. It appeared that the Lady Eagles from Paul VI got the message when they were taking on the Lady Crusaders from Bishop Eustace in an Olympic Conference National Division softball game. In a rain shortened game, starting pitcher Danielle Schafhauser would not allow a run to cross home plate and with the help of her teammates Paul VI would outscore the Crusaders 3-0 through five innings. |

It was a baseball game between two teams who have found different ways of keep their winning streak in tact. So when those teams take the field to figure out who's the better team on this day, only the players on the field will determine the outcome. The Golden Eagles from Seneca traveled to Bishop Eustace to take on the Crusaders in what most have considered two of the top teams in our area. Seneca's early success produced enough runs for starting pitcher Dan Grovatt to work with. The Golden Eagles produced six runs during the first two innings and were able to keep Bishop Eustace off the scoreboard. Seneca would extend their current winning streak to six games with their 8-0 victory over the Crusaders. |

These two teams were very familiar with one another as they had met in last year's playoffs. The Bulldogs from Glassboro were looking to repeat their performance by knocking off the Lady Crusaders out of the post season tournament for the second year in a row. This evenly played first half of field hockey had to be decided during that all-important second half. The host Bishop Eustace would rally behind Leah Furey's goal midway through the half proved to be the game winner. The Crusaders, with their 3-1 victory over Glassboro, will advance to the state finals. |

The Lady Crusaders from Bishop Eustace knew they were expected to make it to the finals of the girls' Non-Public South B soccer finals. During the regular season, they played very well and were rewarded the top seed in this year's tournament. Not looking past their game against the fifth seeded St. Rose squad, the Crusaders were focused on this game and it showed on the field. Bishop Eustace's defense only allowed two shots on goal and the offense scored in both halves of this game. The Crusaders would advance to the finals with their 4-0 victory. |

It was a match up between the second and third seed of the Central Jersey Group I field hockey tournament and there was no doubt that it would be a very close game. On the field, the Lady Crusaders from Bishop Eustace started out this game strong on both ends of the field pressuring Gloucester's defense during the opening moments. With every attempt in getting the game's first goal coming up short, Bishop Eustace just would give up. The Crusaders would score a goal in each half and reward themselves with a 2-0 win and advance to the finals against New Egypt. |

There's a lot that could be said about a team who was trailing by twenty-two points before the halftime intermission even begins. The way that the Delran Bears began their homecoming game, everything was going right for the home team. This was a battle between two undefeated teams and Bishop Eustace appeared to be headed for their first loss of the season. But during the second half, the Crusaders began to chip away at their deficit and trailed by six points with less than three minutes remaining in the game. With only about a minute remaining in this thrilling game, quarterback Jimmy Rafferty connected with Nick DeNoble on a post pattern from 62-yards out giving Bishop Eustace the come-from-behind victory. With their 29-28 victory, the Crusaders improved their record to 4-0 midway through the season. |

Camden Catholic and Bishop Eustace is a rivalry that has it share of disappointments and excitement after coming away with a win. It's always that game that's marked on the calendar in anticipation of seeing which team is the better one on this day. These two neighboring schools can remember that goal that sent the other team home with a loss. Last year it was the Lady Crusaders who came away with a win over Camden Catholic to advance during the playoffs. Today, under different circumstances, the Lady Irish's field hockey team starting a new chapter by defeating Bishop Eustace by a 3-0 margin. Michelle Vittese scored twice to lead the Irish to victory. |

There's always something that happens after the coaching staff gathers around with their players during the intermission session during a game. Words of wisdom, constructive criticism or just words of encouragement can be used to motivate the team. When the Lady Renegades from Shawnee visited Bishop Eustace in an Olympic Conference field hockey match-up, the visiting team would work their way to a one goal lead at the break. The Renegades would continue to control this game during the second half as goalie Briana Pereira would not allow a single shot into the cage. Shawnee would start off their season with an impressive 4-0 win against a very good team. |

It was a game that appeared to be in the grasp of their opponent. For most of this South Jersey Non-Public B semifinals game played in Brooklawn, the Rams from Gloucester Catholic clearly had the momentum and a five run lead over Bishop Eustace with two more innings remaining. The Rams, who were the second seed in the bracket, scored in four of the first five innings demonstrating their ability to produce runs. Third seeded Bishop Eustace's momentum slowly increased and rallied for five runs, which included Dewey Oriente's three run triple, during their last two at bats to send this game into extra innings. Relief pitcher Andrew Del Rossi continued to keep the Rams off the scoreboard giving the Crusaders a chance to win this semifinals game. Mike Plakis' solo home run during the ninth proved to be the game winner and Bishop Eustace advanced to the finals with a 13-10 win. |

When two teams with a six game winning streak competes against one another on the diamond, it's safe to say that one of those teams will have to lose. The Golden Eagles from Seneca traveled to Bishop Eustace in a battle between the top two teams from the Olympic Conference National Division. This game would be a classic version of October baseball being played at a high school level in the month of May. Good pitching and solid defense were just a few aspects of this game that both teams demonstrated on the field. Trailing by a run, Bishop Eustace would score twice during the bottom half of the fourth inning to go ahead of Seneca. The Crusaders would tact on an insurance run two innings later and defeat their opponent 4-2 and pick up the divisional title. |

What a difference a day can be. In an emotional battle yesterday against Timber Creek, Seneca found themselves trailing by a run heading into the seventh inning. Not only did they send that game into extra innings, the Golden Eagles found a way during the ninth inning to defeat the Chargers by a run. Not wasting any time against today's opponent, Bishop Eustace, Seneca jumped out to a five run lead and never looked back. Kim Narkiewicz knocked in three of those runs with the first of two home runs on the day and Seneca would have an easier time picking up the victory at Bishop Eustace. The Eagles would post a 12-1 win in an Olympic Conference National Division softball game. |

With the month of May only a few days away, for many teams the threat of showers have been a distant thought as rain has mostly avoid our area and allowing outdoor events free of being rescheduled or cancel. For the Lady Lancers from Holy Cross, they would be happy to pick up another win when they traveled to Bishop Eustace looking to put together a win streak under these sunny skies. With an early three run lead over the home team, Holy Cross watched their advantage dwindle down to a single run. The Lancers would rally during the late innings and defeat the Crusaders 6-2 in a non-league game. |

The Olympic Conference is loaded with talented players all trying to accomplish their individual goals for their team. No one team has totally run away from the rest in their division leaving the door wide open for each and every team to make some sort of movement toward the top. When starting pitcher Alex Rocco got the call for Bishop Eustace, her goal would be to keep visiting Pennsauken from getting batters on base as much as possible limiting any major rallies. The Crusaders' defense were able to provide plenty of support for Rocco as Bishop Eustace posted a 5-1 victory in an inter-division match up. |

It was another chance for the Lancers from LEAP Academy boys' basketball team to show off their skills. The second year program affiliated with Rutgers Camden University rarely gets the opportunity to compete against other high school programs from the South Jersey area. With only three losses in fourteen games played, LEAP would get their chance to see how well they would play against the Crusaders from Bishop Eustace. Quickly the Lancers made themselves right at home and pick up their twelfth win of the season. Four players would finish in double figures as the Lancers would cruise to their 98-64 victory. |

Rashidat Junaid continues to show off her skills both on offense and defense for the girls' basketball team from Camden Catholic. When the match up with neighboring Bishop Eustace took place on their home court, Junaid did not disappoint her teammates or fans. The Lady Irish would stay a few steps ahead of their Olympic Conference National Division opponents during the entire game. The senior center would control the boards and score 20 points helping Camden Catholic post the 66-50 victory. With the win, the Irish would remain undefeated while Bishop Eustace would pick up their first loss in the division. |

Every year preseason predictions are always being made ranking the area’s teams, players and sometimes coaches. With everyone’s opinion about this year’s high school basketball season, no wonder the fans are ready to see which player or players would be advancing to the college ranks as a highly recruited division one player. Julius Ingram would be one of many high school players that have a chance of making South Jersey proud of his accomplishments both on and off the court. In the Moorestown Invitational against West Windsor South, Ingram would help lead Bishop Eustace to a 65-43 victory and advance to the finals of this tournament. |

The South B bracket of the Central Jersey Group I boy’s soccer tournament definitely proves that on any given day, a true upset can happen. Bishop Eustace has proven all season long that they are a group that play well together as a single unit and win. Gloucester Catholic had put together a season winning those games they needed to qualify for the tournament. The Rams’ effort early on rewarded them with a one goal lead that they were able to hold off the Crusaders relentless efforts to tie this game. Two halves of keeper T.J. Delengowski coming up with save after save allow Gloucester Catholic to advance to the next round. |

Coming into this game, both of these teams knew it wasn’t going to be easy to defeat their neighboring opponent. Experience has told them over and over again to limit giving up the corners and try not to leave any player alone in the box. Bishop Eustace traveling to Camden Catholic in first round action of the South Jersey Group II field hockey tournament were not successful at that task late in the second half. But what the Lady Crusaders were good at was scoring the only goal of this game and holding on to it. Hannah Rodgers’ goal just 48 seconds into the second half proved to be the game winner. |

The divisional battles are always very interesting as the season gets closer and closer to their final games. That’s usually the time that division titles are claimed adding a representation of their hard work to their school’s trophy case. It’s also that time that teams are working hard on the soccer field looking for that one opportunity to score a goal. Camden Catholic and Bishop Eustace were competing in an Olympic Conference National Division game that the Crusaders needed to win. Seneca were right on their heels in the standings, but the Irish were first on their minds. Two first half goals by Bishop Eustace was enough to hold off Camden Catholic by a 2-1 margin. |

When the first day of the week begins, it's the time for teams to either build on or rebuild on their performance from the previous week. New adjustments are made to either refine the plays that worked or didn't work. What was working for the Lady Crusaders from Bishop Eustace was their success on the field. This time hosting Cherry Hill West, the Crusaders would start their week out picking up their second straight shutout. Three different players scored goals for Bishop Eustace as they posted a 3-0 victory over the Lady Lions. |
