Eastern Girlz Rule!

The Eastern girls swim team won the 4th Annual Girlz Rule Invitational after coming in second place the past two years. The Lady Vikings did it by winning three of the four 200 freestyle class relays, as well as the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay. Eastern also received individual wins in the 50 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle, and diving competition. The all-girls meet, hosted by Highland and Triton, with the support of the Rowan University Swimming & Diving Teams, also was joined by Audubon/Collingswood, Delsea, Deptford, Gateway, Glassboro, Haddon Township, Kingsway, Pitman, Sacred Heart, Sterling, Williamstown, and Woodstown.

The Girlz Rule tournament was set up to allow girls who swim and dive on co-ed teams an opportunity to "strut their stuff" by competing in a girls-only meet. At the end of the meet, there is a special test of endurance called "This Girl Rulz!" in which each team selects a representative to compete in a series of 25 meter sprints. After each sprint, the girl who finishes last is eliminated. This year the event was won by Kristen Greer of Eastern, who had come in third last year.
