Welcome to the
home page of the most exciting sofball league in South Jersey. This modified
fastpitch league features bunting, stealing, and baseball-like strategy.
The playing rules are a modified version of
ASA
rules. SJML features bylaw guidelines which
elect officers, conduct of league business, and
governs the rules of play. It is among the most competitive modified
leagues on the east coast. The league has a long history and has grown
to 16 teams and many sponsors.
Games are played weeknights from May to August in Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester Counties. The SJML is an adult league composed mainly of men, but women are welcomed. Most games start around 6:30 but about a quarter of the schedule consists of night games under the lights.
Originally a small
company circuit formed by RCA Moorestown employees, it has grown to be the
largest modified fastpitch leagues. Sponsors enjoy exposure for their
businesses through advertising on the SJML webpage courtesy to South Jersey
Sports Online, through the SJML hotline, newsletter, outings and other league
activities. In addition to team sponsors, the league is sponsored by
Lockheed Martin Corporation.
