Waterford Twp. Holds Off Stratford

A SJGSA Girls 13-15 Junior Patriot Division game was played at Waterford Twp. Waterford jumped out to a 3-0 lead going into the 4th inning. In the bottom of the 4th Stratford got 2 runs making it a 4-2 game. In the bottom of the 6th inning with the bases loaded, one out and the score 7-3, Stratford hit a ball to right field. With the game on the line, Kaitlyn Schafer made a great catch and got the ball back to the infield to hold the runners which was the play of the game.

The outfield was outstanding, played by Nicole Cicchino, Ashley Rodenheiser, Abigail Taraskus, and Kaitlyn Schafer. Angela Dipompo had a outstanding game catching, tagging out 5 players at home plate. Sarah Longino (6-0) pitched all seven innings, striking out 9 and only giving up 7 hits to a very good Stratford team.

Great Game Waterford, now 9-1 with Clementon coming up on Tuesday, June 1 at 6:15 pm, home at Ritter Field in Waterford Twp.
