By Gary Finigan The Voorhees Hurricanes played host to the Medford Lightning in Youth Indoor Winter Soccer action. The Hurricanes jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first half by controlling the ball with offensive pressure. The Lightning got on the scoreboard with 2:00 minutes remaining in the first half. The half ended with the Hurricanes holding the 6-1 lead. In second half action, the Medford Lightning played a much stronger game, scoring 3 goals. The Hurricanes continued with the strong offense, adding 5 more goals in the half. The final score for the game was 11-4 in favor of the Voorhees Hurricanes. For the Hurricanes, Bobby Long led the attack with 6 goals, George Woolston and Michael Stoner each scored a pair of goals and Steve Long picked up one goal. The Medford Lightning got a two goal performance from Max Hamilton, with Sean Dooley and Connor Stokes each scoring one goal. Not to be overlooked, the goaltending for each team had plenty of work. Mark Ferretti of Voorhees, Brandon Cohill and Kristopher Hoskins of Medford put in fine efforts in front on the net. Photos by Gary Finigan
