KiXX Acquire All-Star Defender Glenn Carbonara from the Wave
Vineland, NJ Native Returns Home for his 13th Season

The 2001-02 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Champion Philadelphia KiXX announced the acquisition of All-Star defender Glenn Carbonara from the Milwaukee Wave today. As per club policy, the amount is undisclosed. The Vineland, NJ native played his college career at Rutgers University, where he led the Scarlet Knights to the Final Eight of the NCAA Tournament in 1988.
He began his professional career with the Illinois Thunder in 1991-92, before joining the Cleveland Crunch in 1992-93. In his five seasons with the Crunch, Carbonara won two National Professional Soccer League Championships, made his first All-Star appearance (1994-95), and enjoyed one of his best scoring seasons (1995-96) with a career-high 40 points (three three-point goals, eight two-point goals, and 15 assists).
He played his next six seasons, 1996-97 to 2001-02, for the Milwaukee Wave, where he won three more NPSL Championships, bringing his career total to five, the most of any player in the NPSL. Carbonara made four consecutive All-Star appearances from 1998-99 to 2001-02. In 2000-01, he participated in all 40 games, recorded a career-high 89 blocks, and was named to the All-NPSL First Team and NPSL Defender of the Year runner-up.
Last season, the 36-year old participated in all 40 games for the second consecutive season, recorded 83 blocks, tied a career-high with 16 assists and enjoyed one game-winning goal.
