The 2004 South Jersey Banshees of the Northeast Division W-League got to play the Washington Freedom of the WUSA in an exhibition game at Winslow High School on Wednesday night.
The South Jersey Banshees team is made of mostly of college players from the South Jersey region. One of the fans at the game said that most of the players played for Stockton College.
The first half ended with the score 1-0 for the Freedom. In the second half, the Freedom scored two more to take a 3-0 lead. Some of the young girls in the crowd were disappointed that the big stars for the Freedom were not at the game, but still got to see some impressive soccer as the Freedom move the ball to the outside and then crossed to an open player for the score.
