It was another beautiful day for the U-9 South Jersey Girls Soccer League to play. It was a Division 5 U-9 battle between visiting Millville and Berlin Township. In the first meeting of this year, Millville won the opener by the score of 3-2. It was the first game of the year for both teams and it was a close one. This match was the six game of the year for each team. Millville's record was 1-3-1 while Berlin Township's was 0-4-1.
The game started off very much like the first game. Berlin Township scored the first goal, but this time they didn't let Millville score the next goal. Berlin Township jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half on goals by B. Gadzia and S. Wahl. The defense, lead by M. Williams, S. Lemm, A. Romeo and M. Swain, kept Millville away from their net.
In the second half, the teams went up and down the pitch. Millville made the game interesting with a goal with about 10 minutes left, making the score 2-1. The Berlin Township Hurricanes again got to put on an offensive show. B. Gadzia scored her second goal of the game to give the Hurricanes a two-goal lead once again. The defense shut down Millville and the Hurricanes won their first game of the year. Berlin Township's record is now 1-4-1 and Millville is also 1-4-1.
