The Spring Soccer Season has started in the South Jersey area. In the first week, if you played on Saturday, it was cold and windy and if you played on Sunday, it was a very nice spring day. The second week was just the opposite. The temperatures change for both weeks was around 30 degrees difference on each day.

The Berlin Township Blizzard started the season off with a home match on March 2 against Rancocas Valley. The day was cold and windy as both teams moved the ball up and down the pitch. Rancocas Valley jumped out to a 2-0 lead as the Blizzards kept trying a comeback. The Blizzards cut Rancocas' lead in half with a goal near the beginning of the second half to make the score 2-1. Rancocas took the lead for good and the win by scoring another goal to make the score 3-1.

On Saturday, March 9th, the Blizzard traveled to Atlantic United. The Atlantic United team plays their home games at Absegami High School. The wind was blowing but the sun, when it shined, was very warm, for a great day of soccer. The Blizzard were lead by goalie Sabin and forward McKelvey. In the first half, the Blizzard were going against the wind and the slope of the field. Sabin made some great saves to keep the score 0-0. Later in the half, McKelvey, from left wing for the Blizzard, used her speed as she broke away from the United defense and scored on a breakaway to make the score 1-0.

In the second half, the Blizzard took advantage of the wind and kept the ball down at the United end. McKelvey scored her second of the game and third of the year, this time from the right side of the field. The Blizzard scored their last goal on a penalty kick, by Foster. The game ended with the Blizzard winning 3-0; who now have a record of 1-1.
