BTAA U-14 BLITZ GIRLS' SOCCER TEAM Tuesday, September 16, 1997 By Denise Conn SJSports Staff Writer Saturday, Sept. 6th was opening game for the BTAA U-14 Blitz Girls' Soccer team. The girls played a tough game losing 4-3 to Haddon Heights. The Blitz's scores were made by Nikki Vellucci (2 goals) and Jessica Kemble (1 goal). Saturday, September 13th was a winning game for the girls. Great teamwork by all resulted in a 2-1 victory over Burlington Township. Jessica Kemble scored the first goal from a great cross by Nikki Velucci. Velluci scored the second goal from a skillful play-thru ball by Stephanie Conn.

BTAA CHEETAH BOYS' SOCCER TEAM Tuesday, September 16, 1997 By Denise Conn SJSports Staff Writer On Sunday, September 7th the BTAA Cheetahs opened the soccer season with a victory over CHESA1 by the score of 4-0. The newly formed team consisting of several players new to the game of soccer played a very aggressive game. Brian Peterson scored the first goal, followed by three goals by Nicky DiGrosso. DiGrosso's last goal was a header off a perfectly placed corner kick by Billy Conn. Conn and Matt Rafalko shared the honors of the shut out. Brennan Bosley, Joe Zolfo, Jim Degen, and Tim Bittner played great defense allowing only a few shots on goal. Halfback, Roy Lewin, played an impressive game on both offense and defense. Michael Loscalzo, Mark Schmidt, Kaitlin Rafalko, Lawrence Theckston, and Alex Huston played spectacular for the offense throughout the game.
