South Jersey Roller Hockey: Tuesday, November 30, 1999
By Toby Tyler The men's 30 and over roller hockey league entered its fourth week of competition at the Mega Sports Center in Runnemede, NJ. The Mad Dogs posted their first win of the season by defeating the Nightmares 5-2 in the D ball league. The Mad Dogs were especially enthusiastic because it was the first game they matched up evenly with their opponent. A night of spectacular saves by the seemingly impenetrable goaltender Joe "Cuckoo" Gervasi, kept the Mad Dogs ahead. Goals by Bob Young, Tom Geary, Drew Smith, Mike Patterson and Tony Arizzi covered the Dogs past their seemingly sole league rival. The three stars of the game, by Toby Tyler, were Joe "Cuckoo" Gervasi, Mike Patterson (who played with out a single altercation) and Tony Arizzi. The Mad Dogs will have to come ready to play next week if they are to keep their playoff hopes alive. Photos by Boog Williams
