Lacrosse Spotlight: Eliuk and Finck Capture National Lacrosse League Weekly Honors Thursday, March 10, 2005 By Jennifer Stefani Philadelphia Wings goaltender Dallas Eliuk was named the NLL's Defensive Player of the Week and forward Dan Finck captured Rookie of the Week honors for their performances against the Minnesota Swarm on Saturday, March 5. Eliuk earned his fourth Defensive Player Award this season with 44 saves in the Wings 14-8 win over the Swarm, while Finck recorded five points (3G, 2A). "Dallas has really centered our team this season," said Wings Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson. "When he's has these big games, it fuels the confidence of the entire team. I think that's what has allowed some of our rookies to have such great success including Dan Finck in last week's game against Minnesota." Eliuk is sixth overall among goaltenders with a 12.26 goals against average. The 15-year goaltender has a 78.4% save percentage in eight games played this season. Eliuk received his previous three awards for a 55 save game against the Arizona Sting on January 7, a 42 save game against the San Jose Stealth on February 5, and a 50 save performance against the Buffalo Bandits on February 25. Finck has ten points (5G, 5A) in eight games this season. This is Finck's first Rookie of the Week Award.
