Ice Hockey Spotlight: Phantoms Stop Tigers Philadelphia Closes Out Road Schedule With 3-1 Win Saturdday, April 14, 2007 By Brian Smith BRIDGEPORT, CT - Bridgeport native Pete Zingoni was one of three Philadelphia Phantoms to score in a 3-1 win over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Saturday night at The Arena at Harbor Yard. Philadelphia scored the first two goals, picking up one halfway through the first period and another early in the second. Kyle Greentree tallied the first goal when, while stationed in the slot, he redirected a Matt Davis drive from the center point past goaltender Michael Mole at 9:44. The lead grew to 2-0 just 78 seconds into the second period. Darren Reid was to the right of the net when he fired a puck from a sharp angle that hit Mole. It rebounded in front to Stefan Ruzicka, who poked it home for the two-goal advantage. The Sound Tigers got on the board 5:32 into the frame when Steve Reiger knocked home the rebound of a shot by Trevor Smith. But they couldn't put any more past Martin Houle. Philadelphia closed out the scoring on Zingoni's goal, which came when Mark Cullen forced a turnover in the Bridgeport end and centered into the slot for a one-timer with just 2:05 remaining. Houle earned the win with 26 saves on 27 Bridgeport shots, while Mole absorbed the loss despite stopping 34 of 37 Phantoms bids. The Phantoms close out their season against Hershey at 5:05 Sunday afternoon at the Wachovia Spectrum. It's Fan Appreciation Night, when the Phantoms will give out everything - including the kitchen sink - and will also have the annual Shirts Off Our Backs event after the game. Individual tickets, including $8 tickets for children 14 and under anywhere in the building, are on sale now at phantomshockey.com or by calling 800-298-4200.
