South Jersey Ice Hockey: Hollydell Hurricanes Bantan A Winding Down Successful Season Sunday, February 18, 2001 By Brad Park The Hollydell Hurricanes Banatm A team is completing it's first season as a member of the New Jersey Youth Hockey League. In it's first seaon, the Hurricanes compiled at 10-9-5 record for 25 points. The highlights of the season were a 2-1 win over the American Eagle (15-7-0), 5-4 victory over the JR. Phantom ( 18-5-0) and a recent win over the Legion "AA" Bantam Minor hockey team 4-3. This past weekend they beat the Chester County Upland School 12-1. This can a week after the teams played to a hard fought 5-5 tie. On Sunday, the Hurricanes defeated the Legion "AA" Bantam Minor hockey team 4-3. The Hurricanes scored the winning goal with only 3:13 remaining in the third period. As the month of March approaches, the Hurricanes are preparing for their final tournament at Lake Placid on 3/30 thru 4/2. With the team playing solid Offense, Defense and Goaltending, coach Del Rossi is expecting a strong showing at the tournament The Hollydell Hurricane team is lead by coach Dan Del Rossi. Del Rossi has been involved with hockey for 25 years, as both a player and a coach. He has coach for 5 years at Hollydell, leading both in-house and select teams at the Squirt, PeeWee, and Bantam levels. He has also assisted in various Learn-to-Skate, Learn-to-Play, and Power Skating programs at Hollydell Ice Area. The Hollydell Hurricanes play out of Hollydell Ice Arena located in Washington Township, New Jersey.
