By Mike Costantino Mike Becker had two goals and three assists, and Lucas Urso and John Schellenhammer had two goals each to lead Camden County over Burlington County 9-3 in the SJHSIHL round robin tournament. With the win, Camden County will play Gloucester County on Friday night at Hollydell to determine which county houses the best players. Alan Dennison gave Burlington County its only lead, scoring on a feed from Kevin Kelly. Mike Cianfrani tied the score at 1-1 in the last twenty seconds of the period. Coach Pontonio kept his Eastern players together and this strategy accounted for eight of the nine goals. After Steve Marshall scored early in the period to give Camden County the lead for good, Becker and two by Schellenhammer, one short-handed, blew open the game at 5-1. Becker, a junior, was the best player on the ice, utilizing his speed and puck handling ability to create numerous scoring chances for his team. Bill DeVece scored early in the third to bring Burlington County to within 5-2, with the assist to Greg Bagnoli. Thirty seconds later Becker forced a turnover and scored unassisted and the lead grew to 6-2. Urso then took over scoring twice in a span of four minutes, both set up by Becker and an 8-2 lead. Dave Warrington and Kelly exchanged goals in the last minute to close out the scoring at 9-3. Photos by Boog Williams
