High School Ice Hockey: Friday, March 24, 2000
By Mike Costantino The South Jersey High School Ice Hockey League will hold a round robin tournament beginning Tuesday, April 4th at 6:00 pm at the Flyers SkateZone in Pennsauken. The league has divided the teams by County - Burlington, Camden and Gloucester. Coach Fleming, from Shawnee, will coach Burlington County, Camden County will be led by Coach Pontonio from Eastern, and Coach Harrington of Washington Township will lead Gloucester County. The coaches will select the players, and each team must have at least one player selected. Since this is only a two game round robin tournament, the teams will be awarded one point per period won (ties split), and two points per game won (ties split). The second game will be played at Hollydell in Sewell on Friday, April 7th at 7:30 pm, with Gloucester County playing Camden County. The third game will be at the new High Ridge Ice Arena in Gibbsboro, as Camden County hosts Burlington County on Wednesday, April 12th at 7:30 pm. The finals will be held at Hollydell on Friday, April 14th at 7:30 pm. This will be your last chance to see your favorite seniors lace on the skates.
