High School Ice Hockey: Hockey Tournament Early Round Results Wednesday, February 11, 2004 By Mike Costantino SJSports Staff Writer For the second consecutive year, the SJHSIHL will decide its champion through a double elimination tournament after its successful debut last year. While Eastern is the odds on favorite having just completed there season at 16-0-2, there are a few teams that have the talent to pull off an upset. Namely Washington Township, Clearview and Rancocas Valley. Here are some early results: Moorestown defeated St. Joe’s 6-2 Cherry Hill East beat Williamstown 5-1 Paul VI doubled up Neumann 8-4 Cherokee II upset Cinnaminson 4-1 In these games all the losers were eliminated, the winners will play next Friday, February 20th. Eastern defeated Holy Cross 7-1 Washington Township got by Cherokee 5-3 Clearview edged Shawnee 4-3 Rancocas Valley beat Timber Creek 7-4 Here is the just released schedule for the next round: Friday February 20th at Hollydell - Paul VI vs. Holy Cross at 7:15 Timber Creek vs. Cherokee II at 9:00 Mt.Laurel-- Shawnee vs. Cherry Hill East at 7:30 Voorhees - Cherokee vs. Moorestown at 9:30 Monday February 23rd at Voorhees Eastern vs. Township at 6:30 Clearview vs. Rancocas Valley at 8:10.
