Cherokee Blasts Their Way Into Quarterfinals

The Tier 2 champion Cherokee Chiefs scored 3 first period goals in opening round action. Patrick Henderson led the way with 2 goals and 4 assists, as Cherokee pounded Holy Cross 9 to 2 Thursday night at the Coliseum. Paul Caruso opened the scoring up just 4 minutes into the game. Tim Edwards and Brandon Gould also scored first period goals. Steve Boianelli netted a Hat Trick while Shawn Zahaczewski finished out the scoring.

Matt Charles turned aside 12 Holy Cross shots in the one sided affair. Holy Cross got goals from Clark and Potosky.

Cherokee moves on to the quarterfinals to play defending League Champion Eastern.
