There's a battle going on in the Colonial Conference Patriot Division between two closely matched teams. When the Haddon Heights girl's soccer team traveled to Woodbury to take on the Lady Herd, these two teams were trying to get back to the five hundred level in their quest to reach the playoffs. Haddon Heights would come alive and score two goals in the second half to record a 2-1 victory. Marissa Weick came away with the winning goal for the Lady Garnets.
With fall here and the temperatures finally cooperating with the season, these teams were able to concentrate on first winning the game. Both of these were not going to make the upcoming coaches tournament, but were in striking distance of coming in second place behind the division leading Haddon Township. Between Gateway, Paulsboro and Haddon Heights, only a few games separated them in the divisional standings.
Woodbury would hold a one-goal lead when Erin Cuff scored the first goal of the game in the first half. That lead held up until Haddon Heights' Elisa Gallaro tied the game with a shot past goalkeeper Tammy Timbers. That's when the stage was set for Weick's game winning goal and Haddon Heights were closer to moving up the standings.
