Cory Jackmuff had a hat trick and Evan Betz had a strong game in goal as West Deptford defeated Cherry Hill West 7-2 in Tier II action played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees on Monday night. West Deptford took control early scoring two goals in the first period as Matthew Bennet and William Baker Jr. both scored their second goal of the season. Cherry Hill got one back early in the second period as Justin Hoch found Brett Cybulski in the slot to make it 2-1. Jackmuff then scored the next two goals, first on a blast from the top of the circle and then on a short-handed breakaway to put West Deptford up 4-1.
The sharpest goal of the night occurred late in the second period as West Deptford broke in on a 3-on-1, with Alex Rodack leading the break, he drew the defenseman over a slid the puck to Luke DeHart and his one-timer made it 5-1 after two periods. Goals by Jay Czajczynski and Jackmuff’s third of the game along with a goal by Hoch closed out the scoring.
Notes: With the win, West Deptford leads the division by one point over Timber Creek.
