High School Ice Hockey: Friday, February 4, 2000
By Mike Costantino Ed Dira and Kyle Knox notched two goals each, and Adam Wiedmann added a goal and two assists to lead Collingswood to a 6-3 win over West Deptford at Hollydell on Friday night. Wiedmann, who clearly was the best player on the ice, gave Collingswood the 1-0 lead midway through the period. West Deptford tied the game at 1-1 on a goal by Bob Koch. Then with two minutes remaining in the period, Dira gave Collingswood the lead for good, scoring on a shot from the right circle and the period ended at 2-1. Dira's second goal in the first three minutes of the second period put Collingswood up 3-1. Then Knox and Kevin Muckel scored fifty-seven seconds apart, and Collingswood was in control at 5-1. Steve Wade scored late in the period for West Deptford to make it 5-2. Jarett Jackmuff picked up a loose puck and fired it home from the slot to bring Deptford to 5-3. But Knox scored his second of the game to seal the win at 6-3. Photos by Art Redd
