Township Late Rally has Minutemen in Second Round

Washington Township trialed 3-1 with under eight minutes remaining in the game, but erupted for five goals over the final seven minutes and defeated William Tennent 6-3 in Flyers Cup action played at the Igloo. After a scoreless first period in which goalie Joe Scafisi played well stopping all 15 shots, Tennent broke through in the second period scoring two power play goals, one by Nick DiChristopher and one by Ed DeWald along with an even strength goal and led 3-0. Cameron Rowand scored a power play goal late in the period to cut the lead to 3-1.
Midway through the period Jim Tumolo and Rowand scored goals forty three seconds apart to tie the score t 3-3. Colin Davis broke the tie with less than five minutes remaining and Jared Emmet added a short-handed goal and empty net goal and Township had miraculously escaped with a 6-3 win. Next up for Township is a meeting with Council Rock South.
