Colin Davis had two goals and three assists and Jared Emmet notched his first career hat trick at the varsity level as Washington Township flew past Moorestown 8-2 in Tier 1 action played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. Ben Doganiero and Ben Smith scored the Moorestown goals. After an evenly played first period which ended at 2-2, Township controlled the final two periods, taking advantage of the man advantage, connecting four times on the power play, and getting some key saves by Joe Scafisi when they needed him. On the power play early in the second period, Christian Biscardi broke the 2-2 tie after Parker Brown had came right down the slot and after the initial shot, Biscardi put home the rebound to give Township a 3-2 lead.
About three minutes later, Davis blasted one home from the slot as well and the lead was now 4-2. Late in the period with Township on the power play, Moorestown broke in on a 2-on-1 with a chance to cut the lead, but Scafisi made the stop and Township came right down and Cameron Rowand scored to make it 5-2 after two periods. That exchange was a two goal swing and seemed to deflate Moorestown as they started the third period, as seven minutes were played before they registered their first shot on goal. Emmet scored twice in the third period, both tomes using his speed to create opportunities flying down the right side. Christian Fleagle closed out the scoring for Township as they skated off with an impressive 8-2 win against a very good team.
