Washington Township lost to Central Bucks West 3-2 in the opening round of the Flyers Cup Tournament at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. Unable to generate much offense, Township managed only 16 shots on goal and saw their promising season end. PJ Bizon gave CB West the lead midway through the first period, but Fred Brewer tied the game at 1-1thirty seconds later with a quick wrist shot from the slot. Reuter put CB West ahead to stay scoring a power play goal with less than four minutes left in the period. West seem to control most of the play in the later stages of the period and early on in the second period.
Nick Saviano gave West a 3-1 lead scoring on a breakaway, but Township responded four minutes later as Marco Jordan deflected a shot from the point by Chris Keyser. CB West, late in the period, had a two-man-advantage for the full two minutes, but two big saves by Derek Anderson kept it a one-goal game. The period ended with Township down by just one, but only having three shots on goal. CB West did not give up the blue line and Township never threatened in the third period.
Notes: The attendance overall was very disappointing as CB West had more fans than did Township.
