Buddy Anderson had two goals and an assist, Tom Davies and Joe Pelle chipped in with a goal as Washington Township defeated Shawnee 4-3 to swept the two game series and advanced to the finals. Township awaits the winner of the Clearview/Eastern series; Clearview leads one game to none. As in game one, Jeff Sutphin was stellar in nets for Shawnee. With solid checking and good goaltending, it was the main reason Shawnee gave Township all it could handle.
After Mike Codianni jumped on a loose puck twenty seconds into the game to give Shawnee an early 1-0 lead, Davies tied the game at the ten-minute mark on a feed from Anderson. About four minutes later Anderson untied it with a blast from just inside the blue line and Township led 2-1 heading into the second period. After Wolfe tied the score at 2-2, Anderson once again used his speed to create an opportunity on the power play and Township led 3-2 after two.
Shawnee had a golden opportunity late in the second period with a two-man advantage but could not capitalize. Then midway through the final period, Adam Zaccaria broke in and was stoned by Sutphin. But it was Pelle who jammed home the rebound to put Township up 4-2. Dave Cihocki scored for Shawnee with twenty seconds left in the game to pull within 4-3. The game would end before Shawnee could create another scoring opportunity.
