Township Wins JVA Division Championship

The Washington Township JVA squad completed the regular season with a 4 to 1 win over a tough Rancocas Valley hockey club in front of a packed house at the Hollydell Arena on Sunday February 15th. The win enabled Township to take over and finish in first place with a record of 22-7-3. Scoring for Township in the first period was captain Nick Carnavale with assists going to Tom Nicoletti and Joe Junfola. Rancocas tied the game in the second period, but three unanswered goals by Township gave the JVA team a lead they never lost. Township goal scorers were Eric DeFiore with help from Matt Neagle, Mike Dandurand assisted by Manny Suriel and Dan Ricci, and the final tally from Tom Nicoletti assists from Nick Carnovale and Tom Davies. Goaltender Andrew McGinn was outstanding in goal and stopped 18 of the 19 shots he faced. Congratulations to JVA coach Will Brown, senior captain Nick Carnavale and the entire JVA team on a GREAT WIN and a reamarkable season.

Washington Township will face Clearview in the playoffs Sunday, February 22nd, at 7:30 p.m. at Hollydell Ice Rink.

The Washington Township JVB team will meet Shawnee in the semi-finals on Sunday, February 22nd, at 5:45 p.m. at Hollydell Ice Rink.
